What does a car with a driver from the port cost?
From the port, a car with a driver costs €25 to the Old Town and €50 to the airport, per vehicle and not per passenger, with fuel, tolls and VAT included. A minivan for up to eight costs €35 to the Old Town.

The port and its berths
Dubrovnik’s ferry and cruise port is in Gruž, run by Luka Dubrovnik from Obala pape Ivana Pavla II 1. It is about 3 km west of the Old Town and about 3.5 km from Pile Gate by road. The cruise ships use several long berths along the quay, so the walk from the ship to the road depends on where yours ties up; that is why we confirm the meeting point once we know the ship and the berth.
Cruise calls are frequent. Dubrovnik was Croatia’s busiest cruise port in 2025, with 557 visits by foreign cruise ships, and the port’s arrivals calendar listed 61 cruise arrivals for October 2026 alone. The European Commission notes that the city limits cruise visitors to 4,500 a day or two ships at a time.
From the port to the Old Town
The ride to Pile is short, about 3.5 km. From the drop-off area at Pile, the gate is about 115 m on foot; the Old Town page explains where a car may stop while the traffic zone runs, from 1 April to 31 October. City buses 1A, 1B and 3 also run from the “Luka Gruž” stop to Pile, according to the Tourist Board.
A shore day with a driver
On a port day, time is the constraint. Hire by the hour starts at 3 hours, at €50 an hour by car, and a half day of 4 hours costs €190. The driver keeps the car near each stop and plans the return to the port around your all-aboard time, whether the plan is the Old Town and the cable car, Cavtat, or the walls of Ston.
From the ship to the airport
On a cruise that starts or ends in Dubrovnik, the run between the port and the airport is the one that matters. The airport is about 20 km from the port by the port operator’s reckoning, and a car with a driver costs €50 by car or €65 by minivan, per vehicle. Tell us the ship, the time you expect to be ashore and the flight, and we plan the pick-up so that the summer traffic on the coast road, which the airport says can stretch the drive to an hour, still leaves time for check-in.
Ferries and the bus station
Jadrolinija’s ferries leave from the same port, including the seasonal international line to Bari in 2026. The main bus station is about 500 m from the ferry port, at Obala pape Ivana Pavla II 44A. If you arrive by ferry with luggage, the driver meets you at the port and takes you straight to your accommodation. For a group of five to eight with suitcases, a minivan from the port to the Old Town costs €35, one fare for the whole group.
